How to Play

In Penalty Shoot-Out footballers are grouped into a high, medium or low segment and within the segments individual players are rated:

Outfield                                                            Goalkeeper

1- 4 (low)                                                          3 (low)

5-7 (medium)                                                    4 (medium)

8-10 (high)                                                        5 (high)

From this rating system you can see which players should have the best chance of scoring or saving a penalty; but, just like the real thing, there is a random element which can affect the outcome. This means that the lowest rated player can out-perform the highest, so even though you know what should happen you can't be sure until the penalty is taken - and, just like the real thing, you can't affect the result once you have chosen your players, you just have to wait and see what happens.

To play is very simple. When you have registered just log on, click PLAY NOW and then CREATE TEAM; at this point you are given a goalkeeper and 5 outfield players from your squad of 22.

You may not always receive the highest rated players and if you were to loose to a stronger team because you did not field your strongest team you would have a negative effect on both your team's success and your own success in the leagues.

To try and ensure the best possible outcome for your team you can buy points that allow you to trade and change lower rated players for higher ones. You can also use points to enhance 2 of your player's ratings by using your skill and judgement with the Skill Wheel; when you've finished organising your squad you click PLAY.

There is then the choice of playing against the computer or finding an opponent online.
